Owners of the newly launched micro and family owned water bottling company, Driftless Fine Waters, LLC, were thrilled after getting the news that they were awarded a Silver in the Fine Waters International Tasting Competition, held on April 24th in Stockholm, Sweden.
Fine Waters Summits have previously been held in Barcelona, Vidago, Shanghai, Los Angeles, and Guangzhou. This year’s event was the first time entering the contest for Driftless® Fine Water. The theme of the 6th Fine Water Summit was “Future Trends” in fine waters.
“We are thrilled to have this award, emphasizing the completely natural refreshment that is our water. Our commitment to sustainability includes bottling a superior all natural product only in glass, in a limited quantity, and to be active in water quality issues that support smart policies right here in the Driftless and throughout the Great Lakes region—those are our goals,” Julia Henley, Managing Partner, Driftless Fine Waters, LLC.
For locations to find this newly launched product, Henley explained, “We are rapidly expanding our distribution to include co-ops and coffee shops, fine restaurants, and hotels.” Currently, the water is distributed in five states in the Midwest through Co-op Partners Warehouse.
Receiving such an award, out of the gate, so to speak, is something to note.
“It is an honor, and also a beginning of a vision we have had a long time. We were the only US based winner, and coming from our source, is pretty amazing,” Jack Knowles, Partner, Driftless Fine Waters, LLC. “This is our terroir, our taste, and our specific mineral profile of high in magnesium and calcium, low in sodium. The combination of annual precipitation, our own land and water management, our soils, and our careful attention to purity, while still being all natural, makes us unique.”
Driftless® Fine Water won the Silver in Taste in the Low Minerality/Still category. Other winners in this category included water from Panama, Spain, and Italy.
